UN SESSIONS

In an increasingly complex global environment, small and underrepresented nations are often burdened by governance models and development strategies that are either too costly, inefficient, or misaligned with their scale and realities. The Council of Global Change (CGC) was founded with the belief that efficient nations are not those that spend more — but those that adopt, adapt, and replicate what already works.

In an era of accelerating technological change, driven by advances in artificial intelligence and digital innovation, inclusive access to technical education is increasingly recognized as a foundation for sustainable and equitable development. The global digital transition requires a collective, forward-looking response to ensure that every young person, regardless of context, has access to the tools, skills, and opportunities needed to thrive.

The side event, Youth at the Forefront: Leveraging Science and Social Inclusion for Sustainable Development organized jointly by UNEP and UN-Habitat and civil society partners will highlight youth-led efforts in localizing the SDGs through initiatives such as the Youth 2030 Cities program, and community level data collection opportunities in the context of the UN One Map initiative, highlighting initiatives in areas such as Zero Waste.

The roundtable facilitated a collaborative dialogue among global leaders, diplomats, and innovators, including representatives from United Nations agencies, academia, private industry, and civil society organizations. Thought leaders from groups such as One Earth, Nvidia, IEEE, Earth Law Center, and more contributed to shaping an actionable, scalable strategy for global problem-solving.

At this side event there will be showcased and discussed systemic solutions for citizens’ and youth climate/SDGs action empowerment on the individual and local community level, which are being developed in the context of the multi-stakeholder partnership for global challenges action innovation.
