The Council of Global Change (CGC) officially announced the opening of a new office in Mexico as part of its strategy to strengthen its institutional presence across Latin America and further its vision of consolidating international platforms for cooperation, strategic dialogue, and multisector collaboration among public, private, and multilateral actors.
The opening of this new regional representation marks another step in the organization’s international expansion process, positioning Mexico as a strategic platform for the development of future international partnerships.
The CGC is an international organization that brings together leaders from various sectors — including diplomacy, business, philanthropy, culture, media, and social development — with the goal of advancing initiatives focused on international cooperation, strategic dialogue, and multisector alliances among governments, multilateral organizations, and private sector stakeholders.
In recent years, the organization has held various sessions and meetings at the United Nations alongside diplomats, government representatives, business leaders, international organizations, and influential figures from the private sector, focused on fostering spaces for international cooperation and global dialogue.
The new office in Mexico will be led by Hector Sulaiman, member and Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Council of Global Change, whose international trajectory has been closely linked to initiatives involving sports diplomacy, international cooperation, and the building of institutional bridges between political, business, social, and humanitarian sectors.
The incorporation of leaders with experience in multisector articulation forms part of the institutional vision of the Council of Global Change to strengthen its regional presence and consolidate new platforms for international cooperation across Latin America.
Among the most notable initiatives associated with Héctor Sulaimán’s trajectory is his involvement with Scholas Occurrentes, an initiative launched by Pope Francis and later established as a pontifical foundation of the Vatican. Sulaimán served as President of the Advisory Council of Scholas Occurrentes Mexico and actively participated in international projects focused on education, social integration, the culture of encounter, and international cooperation through sports and culture.

The institutional relationship between the Sulaiman family and Pope Francis was reflected through various meetings and initiatives developed during his pontificate. One of the most notable moments took place on February 15, 2024, when the meeting between then-presidential candidate Claudia Sheinbaum and Pope Francis at the Vatican was facilitated by Hector and Mauricio Sulaiman through relationships developed around humanitarian and social projects carried out alongside the Vatican.

Hector Sulaiman’s international trajectory has also been linked to the World Boxing Council (WBC), an institution historically led by the Sulaimán family and recognized as one of the most influential sports organizations in the world. He currently serves as Executive Vice President of the WBC, participating in initiatives related to sports diplomacy, international cooperation, and social programs connected to sports.
In 2018, Héctor Sulaimán and his brother, Mauricio Sulaiman, took part in an official visit to the White House during the ceremony led by then-President of the United States Donald Trump, in which a posthumous presidential pardon was granted to the historic world champion Jack Johnson. The event brought together prominent figures connected to international boxing and the film industry, including actor Sylvester Stallone and former world champion Lennox Lewis.

Over the years, the Sulaimán family has maintained institutional relationships with political leaders, business figures, and international personalities from various sectors, consolidating a network of connections linked to sports, philanthropy, social diplomacy, and international cooperation, including collaborations developed alongside Carlos Slim and the Ring Telmex-Telcel Foundation through support programs for active and retired boxers.
The opening of this new office in Mexico reflects the regional expansion process of the Council of Global Change in Latin America and its vision of strengthening platforms for international cooperation and multisectoral dialogue. Héctor Sulaimán’s trajectory in areas connected to sports, social diplomacy, and institutional engagement aligns with this new stage of regional growth driven by the organization.
